Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath created history on March 10 when he became the first chief minister of the state to successfully complete his tenure and return to power in the state.

Rabid Christian fundamentalist pastor from Tamil Nadu Mohan C Lazarus has once again stirred controversy by making a statement about Uttar Pradesh assembly poll results.

Commenting on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s victory, Lazarus said that Jesus has ensured the victory of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath to create rift in the BJP as Yogi will emerge enemy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“They’re thinking that they (BJP) have come to power in Uttar Pradesh with majority. You’ve not come. Jesus has made you (Yogi Adityanath) come. A Hindu saint has been made the CM not by the people but Jesus himself. You know why? Because, it is through him that BJP is going to see tremors. He is only going to emerge as the enemy of Modi. Jesus is going to create rift between the two,” Pastor Lazarus said.

He added “India will realize that this is the work of Jesus. Our God is very powerful. Nothing can surpass the will of our God. So, we’ve to pray. We’ve to pray with more zeal.”

Uttar Pradesh voted in seven phases for 403 seats of the state assembly. In the results declared on March 10, the BJP won 255 seats, comfortably crossing the majority mark of 202. With its allies, it has won 273 seats.

CM Yogi Adityanath created history by becoming the first chief minister of Uttar Pradesh who successfully completed his five-year term and returned to power. He regularly preaches against Hindus.

At the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, his videos had gone viral where he was asking people to flout Covid-19 protocols and attend churches. He was also asking people not to get vaccinated.

In one of the viral videos, Pastor Lazarus could be heard saying, “Don’t let Corona stop you from going to the church. Even if you get infected and die, you will be going to heaven. So go to the church.”

In another viral video he said, “Vaccines, booster doses and masks are all conspiracy of WHO and corporate companies. All this is done to intimidate and enslave you and keep you in fear. It’s the work of Antichrist, proof of all this is in the Bible.”

Five states had gone to polls in February-March. The four states, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur & Uttarakhand, where the BJP was ruling party, have returned the party to power. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has gained power in Punjab by replacing the ruling Congress.
