Itanagar: Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) abducted an Indian youth from Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on January 18, BJP MP from Arunachal Pradesh Tapir Gao informed on Wednesday (January 19) through his Twitter handle.

According to MP Gao, the abducted youth by the PLA has been identified as 17 years old Miram Taron. Speaking to 'Organise' MP Tapir Gao said Miram Taron and his friends went fishing in the Lungta Jor area on the 18th evening. The Chinese PLA abducted Miram from the Lungta Jor area. His friend Johny Yayaying(27) somehow escaped and informed the villagers, Gao added. MP Gao, who is currently in the Zido area, said over the phone that the incident took place near where the Tsangpo River enters India in Arunachal Pradesh.

MP Gao has already informed the Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik about the incident and requested him to take necessary action.

Similarly, the PLA had kidnapped five boys from Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Subansiri district in September 2020 and released them after a week.

In a series of tweets, Gao earlier said,

"Chinese #PLA has abducted Sh Miram Taron, 17 years of Zido vill. yesterday January 18 2022 from inside Indian territory, Lungta Jor area (China built a 3-4 kms road inside India in 2018) under Siyungla area (Bishing village) of Upper Siang dist, Arunachal Pradesh.“`."

There are reports that the Chinese PLA has built roads and concrete houses in the Longju area, which is a disputed area. The Chinese have been occupying the Longju area since March 1959.
