In a thump up to the Yogi administration, the three-member judicial commission has given a clean chit to the Uttar Pradesh Police in the Vikas Dubey encounter. UP Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna tabled the panel's report on the floor of the state Assembly on Thursday.

The judicial commission accepted the police's 'self-defence' argument and stated that the injuries suffered by the policemen could not have been fabricated or self-inflicted. The report also added that an accident caused “momentary unconsciousness” to some of the police personnel sitting in the vehicle along with the gangster allowing him to escape.

"….evidence relating to sequence of events which ultimately resulted in the death of accused Vikas Dubey  do not raise any kind of suspicion or doubt about the genuineness of police version of events," reads conclusion of the report.

The panel has also recommended disciplinary action against those public servants who allegedly colluded with Dubey. Highlighting his clout, it claimed that any person who complained against him or his associates would be humiliated by the police.
