A terrorist has been neutralised by the security forces in an encounter that broke out in the Munand area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district. The terrorist has not yet been identified. Search operations are underway.
"Encounter has started at Munand area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. One unidentified terrorist was killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow," tweeted Kashmir Zone Police
The firefight begun after a joint team of the police and the Army launched a search operation. Specific information was received about the presence of terrorists.
As the security forces narrowed in on the spot where terrorists were hiding they came under a heavy volume of fire that triggered the encounter.
