Experiencing Immortality

The union with five elements of nature can be accomplished while we are living. This is possible through yog saadhanaa (practice). It leads to the experience of immortality while we are within this mortal coil called the human frame

The union with five elements of nature can be accomplished while we are living. This is possible through yog saadhanaa (practice). It leads to the experience of immortality while we are within this mortal coil called the human frame

Physical body goes back literally in union with five elements of nature/creation when death occurs. In that sense all of us may be said to be lumps of matter in various sizes, shapes and designs. This is true not only for human beings alone but also for all living beings. Neither materialists nor spiritual amongst us can deny aforesaid union to be a fact. Yet, owing to our self-imposed ignorance and obstinacy this becomes our self-imposed limit and we don’t even think of exploring higher planes of our subtler existence that goes much beyond our commonly perceived physical identity.
 
However, spiritual people humbly accept their ignorance (like all scientists/seekers do) and this acceptance opens up before them the door to know the unknown for which of course they do incessant efforts (purushaarth) in right earnest (vidhi purvak). Which in turn keeps revealing the real value of human dignity to them as they keep attaining higher stages of consciousness. Worth of human birth is invaluable.
 
What is your deduction from the above description?
 
One clear deduction is that the physical body earns no karma (impression) as its result is visible and verifiable that all physical bodies become one. There is no separate Praarabdha for the physical body. (chaahe jaise karm kiye hon, sab shareeron ko ek hi fal miltaa hai ki ve sab panch tatvon men viliin ho jaate hain). No good body is rewarded and no bad body is punished after its consciousness (working period) is over that means ‘essentially’ there is no good body or bad body. It’s just a body. And, the second deduction is that the ones who are in the mode of ignorance don’t see that, as their vision doesn’t go beyond separateness to glimpse into ‘essential union’.
 
Through yog saadhanaa (practice) the union with five elements of Nature can be accomplished while we are living. This leads to the experience of immortality while we are within this mortal coil called the human frame. Our union is the real freedom, separation is not. That’s how discovering ‘essential oneness’ through bonding liberates us and seeing ourselves through segregation becomes bondage.
 
That’s the first stage of conscious experiential evidence, where the essential difference of being human vis-à-vis other species is realised, as no other species has the potential to realise this union as a separate experience from oneself. You may call this first stage of liberation.
 
Realising this stage of union makes us self-aware that we are not this body. At this stage our journey in the ‘subtle body’ may begin if we choose to travel further. Also, it is at this stage that we feel how previously performed karma influences our taste (tendencies). And, taste obviously may influence our choice.
 
Taste and choice both may be refined through sat-sang and discernment (saadhnaa). Further, it is at this stage alone that we realise the power of our mind (chitta) in decision making. It is much higher than the power of habitual pulls of the gross body. And, we also realise that sat-sang helps in upholding the correct course at this stage
 
At this stage in our awareness the physical body becomes like a shuttle or outer sheath of this subtle body. It is at this stage that the help of guru in pulling us up towards higher planes of consciousness is felt very clearly.
 
Taste and choice both may be refined through sat-sang and discernment (saadhnaa). Further, it is at this stage alone that we realise the power of our mind (chitta) in decision making. It is much higher than the power of habitual pulls of the gross body. And, we also realise that sat-sang helps in upholding the correct course at this stage
‘Subtle body’ cannot be consumed by (five elements of) Nature. Quite the contrary, it can enshrine all elements of Nature. It goes haywire if it is not in union with a higher self (causal body). It is here that the value of self-discipline and obedience (guru) is realised unexceptionally.
 
It’s at this stage that karma begins. Where there is identification there is responsibility. Where there is responsibility there is karma. Clear, correct and pure identification leads us to involve ourselves totally in performing karma with no fruit (naishkaam karma). This is liberation/satsang. And wrong identification consigns us back to the cycle of worldly journey.
 
So long as our individual self is not surrendered, there is individual karma so its fruit is also there. Karma is identity based. Surrender is essentially before someone. Can one surrender before none? None is capable of doing that. None does it. If someone thinks one does it, is it really done then? Or, is it playing in the hands of false-ego?
 
It is our identification (relation) with the one chosen by our subtle self while graduating towards causal self that has the potential to transform us all earthlings into chosen ones.
 
Isn’t it wonderful! Not being really here despite being here. Or Being here despite not being here. Life eternal manifested through the human frame is wonderful play time ( Leelaa). Those of us who realise it experience the elevation to various spiritual planes of consciousness. And, such union (yog) liberates.
