A 22-year old pregnant woman was raped in an ambulance Monday afternoon in Rajasthan’s Jaipur.
The victim had asked the ambulance driver for food as she had not eaten anything since morning.
The ambulance driver, Surendra, asked her to sit in the van and promised her he would feed her.
Surendra called his friend Mahendra and took the victim to a nearby jungle.
The duo raped her in the jungle too. Later they dropped her near a hospital.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is also the Home Minister of the state.
The victim’s husband used to run a vegetable cart but was out of work since the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
The accused promised her INR 500 and one Kg ghee if she stayed silent.
Rape in the mid of the day in Rajasthan’s capital has shocked people. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced lockdown in the state till June 8.
The police launched a probe and arrested the two accused.
