CNN News 18 apologised for reporting the fake news about the death of Smt. Mahajan based on Tharoor’s tweet.
Smt. Mahajan was admitted in a hospital in Indore after she complained of mild fever. But her Covid test came out negative.
She told the press how the channels could run the news without checking with the Indore administration. She added what the urgency for Shashi Tharoor was to announce the news on Twitter without even checking with the authorities.
But Tharoor is not alone. Former Congress president and Nehru family scion Rahul Gandhi have also been spreading fake news which is causing panic.
Some news outlets reported fake news about the insurance cover of frontline workers being withdrawn by the Union government.
A good 24 hours after the news was retracted by the news organisation, Rahul Gandhi shared it on his social media platforms, causing distress and panic in the public.
