The Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh Wednesday announced it would construct a road in the name of Kothari Brothers in Ayodhya.
Ram Kumar Kothari and Sharad Kumar Kothari, popularly known as Kothari Brothers, were killed by the police in Ayodhya in October 1990.
They had gone from Kolkata to Ayodhya to perform the Kar Seva. The elder brother, Ram Kumar Kothari, was only 23 and younger, Sharad Kumar Kothari, was just 20.
They were shot at point-blank range by the police under the orders of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
Their sister, Purnima Kothari, was one of the invitees for the Bhoomi Poojan of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5 last year.
The landmark judgment of the Supreme Court paved the way for the construction of a grand Ram temple in the temple town Ayodhya.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with the Union Government, has launched many projects in Ayodhya with the aim to develop it into an international religious tourist destination.
The construction of an international airport in the city has already started.
