Aatm-Nirbhartaa

In reality, everyone is the ansha (part) of the whole (purna) known as parmaatman (omnipresent). In reality there is no escape from oneness. However, one can keep postponing their realisation of it and suffer endlessly. The choice is between Atma-prvanchanaa and Atma-Nirbharataa. Choose wisely

Intellectuals and thinkers have tried various ideologies for making peace and prosperity a sustainable reality between complicatedly interdependent nations, but none succeeded. Giant political heads and thought leaders have been attempting many diplomatic ways which are regulated through a plethora of global forums and intergovernmental organisations yet the real thirst for peace ‘between nations’ still stays satiated by a mirage of cunningness at best. Being witty/clever and wise/humorous may be appreciated in a family, but the behaviour of cunningness proves digressive and divisive. Therefore, a real peaceful environment marked by the absence of suspicion and fear still stays in our dreams at best.

The path to real peace and prosperity goes through an eternal spiritual vision which looks at the world as one single family. And this is so because all ‘individual human beings’ hide within their hearts, a feeling of their infinite expansion through creative expression. Everyone wants to be liked and loved by others. No ideology ever took this basic human character into cognisance. And, it’s only in the institution of the family that shaping up and flourishing of the human character is possible.

Most socialist ideologies considered the ‘individual human being’ as a rational being and nothing more. Others considered him to be a consumer being and nothing more. These approaches were equally skewed, as are other approaches (religions?), which tried to define and confine the human being as a fearful and blind believer in some almighty decision-maker (god). There can be no peace in the world in real terms unless we ensure an environment in which everyone could find space to flourish fully and realise one’s real innate potential. This is possible only in a world governed by spiritual values. Mind you; nations are constituted of ‘individual human beings’. If individuals are enlightened (Aatm-Nirbhar), can nations stay away from enlightenment (Bhaa-rat)?

The broadness of the common human vision that keeps the sovereignty, authenticity, dignity and self-identity of every nation intact and flourishing in the environment of non-violence and mutual respect comes from the spiritual realisation of ‘our’ shared destiny. And, the word ‘our’ refers here to every ‘individual human being’ who collectively constitutes all nations of the world and the environment (in every conceivable sense of the word environment) on earth.

The allegation that ‘spiritual people are lazy and unconcerned with life ‘here and now’ speaks of ignorance about spirituality. Indic wisdom values life ‘here and now’ like none else does. Because it knows that birth and death are two points in time that define life-span of the body which has got the immortal soul (the real you / I) as a guest or captive for the volume of time between the two aforesaid points, and, this real knowledge (Aatm-Gyan/self-realisation) makes the importance of the human lifespan much greater to them. No one knows better than these self-realised (Aatm-Nirbhar) ones that every moment of life is an opportunity.

The allegation that ‘spiritual people are lazy and unconcerned with life ‘here and now’ speaks of ignorance about spirituality. Indic wisdom values life ‘here and now’ like none else does. Liberated ones ( jeevan-mukt/ Atma-Nirbhar) find themselves akin to guests in their own body. While staying as guests and evidence of spiritual reality, they become conduits of rendering selfless service to those who are open to receive all that they have to offer. What else can be the purpose of their life? None.

And, those who have lost the remembrance (smriti) of their real existence (yathartaha-swarupa) may feel trapped as captives and identify with their bodies in every sense. This is evidence of how, despite the attributes of the body being the same, the experiences of one person vary from another, depending on their state of consciousness.

If some are not conscious of their real selves, their real-selves don’t cease to exist. All of you may have observed the following at one occasion or the other: When you are totally immersed in something, you don’t notice the passage of time. Now, does time cease to exist (for all others)? In just the same way, if many lives are lived immersed in lower consciousness without ever making sincere efforts to transcend senses, does your potential to attain higher consciousness cease to exist? No.
