As many as 14 tribes of Nagaland have said that political groups should not resort to threats, intimidation or aggressive tone which vitiates the existing peaceful atmosphere. The Naga people are anticipating a transparent political agreement, honourable and acceptable to our people, they said.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Press and Media Cell of 14 Tribes stated that the meeting held on 16th November, 2020 resolved to urge all the stakeholders to respect the sentiments of the people and that, no political groups should resort to threats, intimidation or aggressive tone which vitiates the existing peaceful atmosphere.
“The 14 tribes of Nagaland shall not, at any cost, tolerate any kind of such acts within the domain of our ancestral land. Should any Naga political group resort to violence and bloodshed, they shall be considered as opposing people’s will and shall be treated as “anti Naga’’ and the 14 tribes shall jointly condemn and also initiate severe actions against such individual or groups,” the statement said.
“Therefore, the 14 tribes with great urgency, resolved to urge GOI and Naga Negotiating groups to come together and sign the agreement without further delay,” it further added.
