CPM Kerala secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and his son Binoy Kodiyeri
Noted Islamist O Abdulla has invited Binoy Kodiyeri, son of CPM Kerala state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to Islam to overcome the allegation of rape he is facing right now. Binoy allegedly married to a Muslim woman hailing from Bihar, besides his legal marriage. Binoy is absconding after a Mumbai-based woman launched a police complaint against him.
A radical Islamic thinker and former journalist Abdullah said that Islam is the only legal solution to the problem faced by Binoy. If he converts to Islam, he can marry up to 9. Islam allows a man to marry more than once, he added.
Abdulla also said that Islam opens its doors to the likes of Binoy who face similar crises in life. The video message of Abdulla has stirred up a hornets’ nest in the state as Abdullah is identified as one of the virulent Islamist in the state who is often considered as a sympathiser of radical Islamic outfits like Jamaat-e-Islami and Popular Front of India. He later clarified that he would not withdraw the video message posted on Facebook.
While the CPM State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan denies the allegations, the passport belonging to the woman claims that her husband is Binoy himself. The woman had given her passport as an evidence to the Mumbai police. She had renewed her passport in 2014.
According to the complaint, the woman said ‘she came to know last year that the accused was already married following which their relationship turned sour. She also alleged that the accused threatened her with dire consequences, the official added.’
Based on the woman’s complaint, Binoy has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 420 (cheating) and 376 (rape), Oshiwara police station’s senior inspector Shailesh Pasalwad said in Mumbai.
