Mehsana: A three-day national educational workshop of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) was organised at Ganpat University from June 1 to 3. The workshop was inaugurated by Gujarat Governor Prof Omprakash Kohli. MP from Mehsana Sharadaben Patel was also present.
At the inaugural session, secretary of the Nyas Shri Atul Kothari apprised the gathering of the activities being carried out by the Nyas. He said the major activities of the Nyas include character building and personality development, environment education, Vedic Mathematics, technical education, teachers education, management education, etc. The workshop discussed in detail the activities held last year and the activities to be carried out in next year. The workshop also discussed how to organise international level events for Vedic Mathematics, environment, etc. A national level function of the educationists and Vice Chancellors was also proposed.
The workshop discussed in detail the draft education policy and also to work on the promotion of all Indian languages. A proposal in this regard was adopted. Various issues were discussed at the workshop in eight different sessions. A total of 250 educationists, vice chancellors and teachers attended the workshop. Secretary of UGC Shri Rajneesh Jain, additional secretary Dr Pankaj Mittal, secretary of NCERT Major Harsh Kumar, chairperson of NCPCR Shri Priyank Kanoongo, vice chancellor of IGNOU Shri Nageshwar Rao and many other educationists were present.
