Where Sita gave birth to Luv and Kush

About the Temple
Just about 10 km from Amritsar, the place dates back to the Ramayana period. It has a popular temple where ancient sage Valmiki had his ashram. It is believed that Sita, after being banished from Ayodhya, came to stay here at the ashram and delivered two sons, Luv and Kush. Lahore, in Pakistan,  is popularly believed to have acquired its name from Luv, whereas Kasur, another town in Pakistan, supposedly got its name from Kush. Valmiki is believed to have scripted the epic Ramayana at this place. The temple complex includes a hut, where Sita gave birth to Luv and Kush and stayed for a while, and a well, which is believed to be dug by Hanuman. There are several temples scattered in this area. Devotees flock to Ram Tirth to offer their prayers.
How to Reach
Located close to Amritsar, one can move by public transport as much as by personal one. There, is however, no direct link to the place.    n
