Money lost can be earned back with effort; health, when lost, can be earned back with a lot of effort; but
values, when lost, can never come back

Mohan Reddy, one of the successful first generation ITES entrepreneurs, has been awarded the prestigious award in field of trade and industry. He is founder and executive chairman of Cyient and is also part of various industry bodies. Hailing from Mokshagundam village near Kambham in Prakasam, AP, he graduated in mechanical engineering from IIT-Kanpur and attended University of Michigan, US.
Shri Mohan Reddy founded Hyderabad-based Cyient (formerly Infotech Enterprises) in 1991 after stints in the DCM Group, Mico Bosch, Hindustan Computers Ltd and the Voltas-promoted OMC Computers, where he was managing director.
I am honoured that the government has recognised me for the contribution for Engineering Research & Development in the country said Mr Mohan Reddy on being awarded Padma Shri. Perhaps its the passion, patience and perseverance that pays dividends in the end, was his natural reaction.
The company is involved in almost every major aircraft design programme. “When I started an engineering services company in 1991, many global companies were not ready to outsource engineering at that time. Our first offering was to convert physical maps into the digital format,” reminisces Reddy. Mohan’s passion for social responsibility inspired him to establish the Cyient Foundation to facilitate access to quality education, participate in projects with business-aligned social innovation, and invest in environmental development projects.
