Rashtra Sevika Samiti workers during annual Vijayadashami Utsava vow to become powerful source of energy to build a strong nation

Nagpur:
Each Sevika is inspired with the mission of the Samiti and uses the training she receives through her association with the organisation to play her role in the life. Each woman has a definite role in the process of nation-building. Each woman is a symbol of power and energy. They should strive to awaken this latent energy and engage them in the mission of nation-building. Each woman must always remember the principle of ‘Nation is God’, said Dr Uma Vaidya, Vice-Chancellor of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek while addressing the annual ‘Vijayadashami Utsav’ of Rashtra Sevika Samiti at Maharshi Vyasa Sabhagriha in Reshambag premises on October 2. Pramukh Sanchalika of the Samiti, Shantakka, and Nagpur Karyavahika Karuna Sathe also shared the dais.
Dr Vaidya appealed the Sevikas to channelise their inner strength for eliminating the evil forces and evil tendencies from the society. She said family is considered as a small unit of the nation. A woman always plays an important role in building the family as well as the nation. She illustrated her points with various examples of women like Gargi, Maitreyee, Rani of Jhansi, Ahalyabai Holkar, Saudamini Deshmukh, Kalpana Chawla, Indira Gandhi and appealed to the Sevikas to imbibe good moral qualities, values, and wisdom to build inner strength and make the nation strong.
Sushri Shantakka, in her guiding speech, said women are considered as a powerful source of divine energy. Navratri is a festival of worshipping of that divine energy. Hence, on the occasion of ‘Vijayadashami’ women should take a vow to become a powerful source to build a strong nation, she added.
Citing that the prayer of the Samiti is the most beautiful
expression of the qualities and strength of virtuous women of India, she said it was because of these attributes women are given the status of mother in Indian culture. Time has come again for the Indian women to demonstrate these powers for building the family, society and the nation, she said. She termed the ‘Surgical strikes’ by the Indian Army carried out in the PoK and destroying the terrorist camps as a worship of divine energy. ‘Shakti’ is the basic principle of entire nature. It is the sublime, absolute and creative energy that is required to conquer the negative forces. Indian soldiers have shown their valour by destroying the terrorist forces and started worship of diving energy, she added.
The Pramukh Sanchalika took a brief review of social, political and economic situation in India after independence. She attributed the growth and development to selfless service of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. She also narrated the stories of Major Somnath, soldier Hanumanthappa”s wife and military training in Israel. Women in their role as mothers shape the
families and when they become awakened they play an important role in protecting the motherland. Such women are required and the Sevikas should dedicate their lives to save the mothers and motherland, she appealed.
Earlier, the Sevikas demonstrated different physical drills, combating techniques, yogasana, etc. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were former Pramukh Sanchalika Pramilatai Medhe, former Nagpur mayor Dr Kalpana Pandey, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sharirik Pramukh Manisha Sant, Vijaya Bhusari of Sahkar Bharati, Amol Pusadkar of Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, Mrinalini Waghmare of Vishwa Manglya Sabha, Anita Shirpurkar of Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal and Nirupama Deshpande of Melghat Bamboo Project.
