RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said the Sangh Pracharaks try to present the ideals of life through their daily conduct. For it, they try to keep themselves balanced throughout the life. He was speaking at a function organised in New Delhi on December 19 to felicitate veteran Sangh Pracharak and the founder of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat Sardar Chiranjeev Singh.
On this occasion, Sardar Chiranjeev Singh was presented Rs 85 lakh by the Sikh Sangat workers to mark the completion of 85 years of the life. Sardar Chiranjeev Singh handed over that amount to Keshav Smarak Samiti to be spent on research related to Sikh history. Sant Baba Nirmal Singh, Uttar Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt, Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Kulbhushan Singh Ahuja and many other senior Sikh saints were present on the occasion.
Shri Bhagwat said Sangh does not make Pracharaks but the individuals take this decision on their own when their inner voice encourages them to follow this path. Sangh provides an atmosphere to the people in which they realise the sufferings of others. The life of Sardar Chiranjeev Singh is an example how life can be made fruitful by living for the nation and the society. His life shows us how to collect the strength to make the organisation stronger, he added.
Speaking on the occasion Sardar Chinranjeev Singh said no incident is needed to take place to become a Sangh Pracharak. It is simply working for the nation and the society as we work for our family. “If any incident, which can be attributed to become a Sangh Pracharak is that Dr Hedgewar founded the Sangh in 1925. This is the only incident, which encourages all of us to join the Sangh and work for the nation. RSS is the only organisation where an individual comes to give and not to take anything,” he said. He further said the Sangh venerates the Sikh Gurus from the core of its heart.
It is to be noted that Sardar Chiranjeev Singh has played a key role in strengthening the relations between the Sikhs and the people of other communities of Hindu society. He was president of the Sikh Sangat for 12 years and now he is a patron.
