News Round-up : Youth should decide their role in national development—Mohan Bhagwat
RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat called upon the youth of the country to decide their role in development of the country. “Bharat was a world leader in all spheres of life. We created records in all the fields. Having a glorious feeling in the heart about it, the youth should today decide their role to make Bharat a world leader again and set their respective goals for betterment of the country,” Shri Bhagwat said while addressing the concluding ceremony of the Tarunodaya Shivir organised by Haryana Prant of RSS in Rohatak on March 30.
Exhorting the society the Sarsanghachalak also said that Bharat cannot make progress until every citizen connects to the roots. “Leaving aside all our differences we have to work for the nation. This feeling has to be generated in the common masses. The RSS has been working to generate the atmosphere in the country where people dedicate themselves to the nation,” he added.
On this occasion Shri Bhagwat also felicitated Olympic Medalist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt. He also congratulated Paramjit Yadav, CWG gold medalist in wrestling, and Vijay Pal who trains several village talents in wrestling for free of cost. Shri Bhagwat said one has to work hard to achieve the success like Yogeshwar has achieved.
Expressing his feelings Yogeshwar Dutt said it gives him immense pleasure when he earn pride for the nation. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sampark Pramukh Shri Arun Kumar, RSS Natonal Executive Member Shri Indresh Kumar, Shri Ashok Beri, Shri Mahaveer, VHP Joint General Secretary Dr Surendra Jain, Kshetra Sanghachalak Dr Bajranglal Gupt, Prant Sanghachalak Major Kartar Singh, and Mahant Chandnath were also present on the occasion.
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists on March 26 were brutally lathicharged when they were protesting against the poor educational conditions in Bihar. Not only lathicharge and tear gas the workers also had to face bullets. The ABVP had organised protests across the State on March 26. When about 10,000 workers started a march towards the Assembly in Patna from Gandhi Maidan they were stopped at R Block. Meanwhile the police started lathicharge and tear gas shells. Not only this, the arrested nworkers were also beaten up by police in police station. About two dozen workers were injured seriously. RSS congratulates Karnataka Govt for respecting mother tongue
Karnataka unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) congratulated the Government of Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Education Minister Kimmane Ratnakar and members of the Vidhan Sabha for respecting the mother tongue in the State by passing a Bill in the Assembly. “This is an important step in making the Kannada as medium of instruction in Primary Education,” said RSS Kshetra Sanghachalak Shri V Nagaraj. He said the RSS in its recently held Pratinidhi Sabha in Nagpur had passed a resolution requesting all the State governments and the Central government to impart elementary education in mother tongue. Sahakar Bharati delegation calls on FM
A Sahakar Bharati delegation called on the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley recently. The delegation included national president Shri Satish Marathe and Director of TJSB Ltd Shri Vidyadhar Vaishampayan. They acquainted the Minister with the various issues confronting the urban cooperative banks. Union Minister of Surface Transport Shri Nitin Gadkari was also present during the meeting. Shri Jaitley advised the delegation to make a detailed presentation regarding the cooperative banks.
Later Shri Marathe led a delegation comprising Chairman of Gujarat Urban Banks Federation Shri Jyotindra Mehta, Director of TJSB Ltd and NAFCUB Shri Vidyadhar Vaishampayan, CA Kalpak Maniar and Shri D Krishna to call on Chairperson of CBDT Smt Anita Kapoor, Secretary, Revenue Secretary Shri Shaktikanta Das and Secretary of Banking and Financial Services Shri Hasmukh Adhia. The delegation apprised them of the problems being faced by urban cooperative banks.
Dinanath Batra honoured with Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman
Noted educationist and convener of Shiksha Bachao Andolan Samiti Shri Dinanath Batra has been honoured with 26th Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman and Bhaurao Deoras Sewa Samman. Dr Hedgewar Pragya Samman was presented by the RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat in Kolkata on April 1. Instituted by Shree Burrabazar Kumarsabha Pustakalaya the Puraskar consists of a cheque of Rs one lakh, a memento and citation.
Speaking on the occasion Shri Bhagwat said Shri Batra is doing an exemplary work by correcting the misunderstandings and also exposing the conspiracies by some elements. Senior BJP leader and former Union HRD Minister Dr Murli Manohar Joshi and many other eminent personalities were present on the occasion. Former BMS president R Venugopal felicitated
Former working president of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) Shri R Venugopal, who is also a senior Sangh Pracharak of Kerala, was felicitated on his 90th birthday at BMS State conference in Thiruvananthapuram on March 29.
The three-day conference demanded control on the prices of essential items and life saving drugs, and that the labour reforms should eradicate the anxieties of the labour community. In a resolution the conference also demanded status quo of the public sector and inclusion of the BMS representatives in government committees. Another major demand is fixation of the minimum pension of EPFO at Rs 5,000.
A trade union procession was the curtain raiser of the State conference. The participation of the procession was confined to the capital city. Still more than 50,000 activists took part in it which showed the strength of the nationalist trade union activists in Thiruvananthapuram. Thereafter the newly elected State president KK Vijayakumar delivered key note address. Former BMS national president Shri Saji Narayanan inaugurated the conference. National joint organising secretary Shri B Surendra and Dakshin Kshethra organising secretary Shri NM Sukumaran and leaders of INTUC, CITU and AITUC also attended the conference.
