“The outlook and thinking of Dr Ambedkar should be looked at in totality. It is must to bring forth his contribution in nation building,” said RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal, while speaking at a symposium organised in Chandigarh by Himachal Research Institute on July 23. Vice Chairman of Punjab School Education Board Dr Kuldeep Chand Agnihotri was also present on the occasion.
Dr Krishna Gopal said majority people in the country know Dr Ambedkar as the framer of the Constitution but many misconceptions were built about his thinking. Fact is that the contribution of his farsighted approach in national building cannot be ignored. His original views on economy were never given adequate space. Similarly, his decisions taken as first labour minister were never given a serious thought. Nation was always first for Dr Ambedkar. He was staunch supporter of social harmony and national unity and not casteism. Advocating the exchange of total Muslim population during Partition, advocacy of national language while extending respect to all languages, terming British theory of Aryan invasion as a conspiracy, giving more importance to social reforms than the political reforms, etc. were the views which prove Dr Ambedkar a pure nationalist, patriot and social reformer, Dr Gopal added.
Introducing the topic, Dr Agnihotri said it was Dr Ambedkar who first exposed the conspiracies of Christian missionaries. The symposium was presided over by Dr Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor of Punjab Technical University. RSS Prant Pracharak Shri Kishore Kant and many other distinguished people of the city and State were also present on the occasion.
Kalyan Ashram medical camp at Bankura, WB?
Kolkata unit of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram organised a two-day medical camp in Simlapal and Ranibandh Blocks of Bankura district in West Bengal from July 19 to 20. On July 19, the camp began at Butsahar village, about 25 km from Garhbeta station deep into forest area, where 450 patients, mostly Vanvasi, were provided medical services and treatments.
A total of 53 patients were identified with eyesight problem for whom spectacles will be sent in about 20-30 days. A total of 44 patients were identified with cataract and other eye problems needing surgery or advance treatments. These patients will be brought to Kolkata on July 28 for surgery and treatment. On July 20, the camp was organised in Nachana village, 10 km from Ranibandh. A total of 390 were treated. The health team included doctors and medical students from CMC, NRS, KPC and AIIMS. They were assisted with teams of 20+ volunteers from local villages at each place.
BMS volunteers reconstruct damaged house in Kasaragod?
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh volunteers on July 21 stood for a social cause in Kasaragod standing as a model organisation to help the needy at a specific time. This time, it was re-construction of an almost damaged rain-hit house. The house of the family of Damodaran and Baby was damaged severely due to the rain recently. Immediately the volunteers of BMS stepped in and helped the family in re-constructing the house. Nearly 30 volunteers took part in this initiative.

ABVP meets HM over UPSC row
A delegation of ABVP, including the representatives of protesting UPSC students, had an hour long discussion with Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh at Shri Rajnath”s residence. The delegation apprised them of the ground realities. “We demanded immediate relief to the students by scrapping CSAT or making it a qualifying paper and at least one month delay in this year”s prelim exam to give relief to the protesting students. Shri Rajnath was seen very concerned about the students and said a pro-student decision would be taken at the earliest. The ABVP also staged a dharna on the same issue at Jantar Mantar, Delhi.?
Women awareness camps by Kalyan Ashram
Himgiri Kalyan Ashram organised women awareness camps in Kinnaur and Solan recently. The camp in Solan lasted for two days, while the camp in Kinnaur lasted for three days. The main topics discussed in the camps included realising Vanvasi identity, family values, sewa, protection of the dharma and the country, security, self-reliance and self-respect.

Veteran VHP leader and senior Sangh Pracharak Acharya Giriraj Kishore was paid rich tribute in New Delhi on July 25. In his tribute RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat said Acharyaji had will power to work even in highly opposite circumstances and he never expected publicity of his work. His qualities of simplicity and positivity are worth imbibing. It is to be noted that Acharya Giriraj Kishore had passed away on July 13 and as per his wishes his body was donated to Army Medical College.
VHP patron Shri Ashok Singhal said Acharya has seen the Parliament with absolute majority of Hindu MPs, but he could not see the rebuilding of a grand temple in Ayodhya. VHP president Dr Pravin Togadia said Acharyaji’s dream of a grand temple in Ayodhya would be fulfilled. Former VHP president Shri Vishnu Hari Dalmia, present general secretary Shri Champat Rai, vice president Shri Omprakash Singhal, central secretary Dr Surendra Jain, State president Shri Rikabh Chand Jain, BJP general secretary (organisation) Shri Ramlal, Sushri Uma Bharati, Shri Sanjay Joshi also paid their tribute.

BMS hits at Rajasthan govt over lathicharge over workers?
Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh reacted strongly over the lathicharge of its activists protesting outside State Assembly in Jaipur on July 25. About 25,000 BMS workers were protesting against the anti-labour attitude of the state government shown in amendment of Labour Laws. BMS national president Baijnath Rai and general secretary Brijesh Upadhyaya termed the police action as violation of Fundamental Rights. They said the BMS would not bow before the anti-labour attitude of any government.
“We do not oppose the review of Labour Laws but cannot allow one-sided reform,” the BMS statement said.
