Eastern India
Besides the influence of Modi wave in India, eastern zone has seen a huge loss. BJP+ is able to grab only 13 seats out of the total of 88 seats (Assam: 7, Odisha: 1, Arunachal: 1, Meghalaya: 1, West Bengal: 2).. BJD and TMC, on the other hand has won 20 and 36 seats from Odisha and West Bengal, respectively. BJP inroad in NE States is a major gain.

Soon after the results, Assam’s Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has offered to resign.
