Pragna Pravah Prant Sanyojak meeting in Hyderabad

undefinedA two-day Akhil Bharatiya Pragna Pravah Prant Sanyojak meeting was held in Hyderabad from November 23 to 24. RSS Sahsarkaryavah Dr Krishna Gopal, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sampark Pramukh Shri Ram Madhav, Paschim Andhra Prant Pracharak Shri Shyam Kumar, Akhil Bharatiya Sah Sewa Pramukh Shri Ajit Kumar Mahapatra were among the top leaders who participated in the meeting. State converns from 32 regions also participated in the meet.

Dr Sadanand Sapre, coordinator of Akhil Bharatiya Pragna Pravah said the Prajna Pravah holds national conventions for promoting collective thinking and coordinated action. It is set to review the activities and formulate strategies for the future. It is expected that various centres in different parts of the country generate a consensus on issues by involving more and more intellectuals in their respective areas and widen the reach of the movement in the interest of true national resurgence.

Dr TH Chowdury demanded decontrol of all Hindu religious institutions from the government control. He said the service to people could be demonstrated to be in the name of Sanatan Dharma if all temples are managed not by government but by our dharmacharyas through a sabha. The hundreds of millions rupees worth gifts that our devotees offer to our gods can all be utilised for rendering service to our people, thus preventing them from falling prey to the conversion vultures.

Dr Krishna Gopal reminded that communism though of western origin, had influential presence both in politics and academia of India long ago. This kind of communist thought process is selective. In the Indian context, the Marxist movement spread out into an anti-imperialist struggle. Lenin did not conceive nationalism as the basis of an anti-imperialist struggle. Confronted by the anomoly of an anti-imperialist struggle in India, without recognising India as a nation, the Indian Communist Party adopted categories of change, which were not Indian in content.

He recalled Vande Mataram was not merely a slogan but a mantra for revitalising the entire nation during the freedom struggle. Marxists discounted the very concept of Bharat Mata and Krisha Gopalji stressed that the depiction of India as a Hindu goddess implies that it is not just the patriotic but also the religious duty of all Indians to participate in the nationalist struggle to defend the nation.

Dr Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Director General of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, Mumbai, delivered a talk on “Social networking” and emphasised that social networking sites are very beneficial and useful for the society as they provide make people aware of the things and issues going on in the society. While our social interactions have historically been constrained geographically, the internet has quickly turned communication into a global phenomenon. With the advent of technologies like internet, broadband and live streaming which has made tremendous strides influencing the lives of every single individual, connectivity offers a wide range of possibilities. With the help of these social networks, one can share views, ideas, debate and arrive at conclusions.      —Nagaraj Rao
