Nitish emphatically said that Alexander never reached near Ganga. If so, then whom did Candragupta defeat? The fact of the history is that Alexander after a tough fight from king Puru on the bank of river Jehlum, decided to go back to his country, appointing Sylukus, an able General, the Governor of the north-west area under the control of Greek army. Sylukus afterwards marched over with a huge Greek army towards Patliputara. Young Chandragupta under the blessings and guidance of Chanakya halted Greek army in the Gangatic Plains. After a long fierce battle Greek army was decisively defeated, and Sylukus surrendered. So, where Modi is wrong. Was Sylukus not representative of Alexander?
