The message of Swami Vivekananda is for all—Mohan Bhagwat

Yuvamanyu, a poetry book by Acharya Devendra Dev on Swami Vivekananda released

“The message of Swami Vivekananda is for all and it has the solution to many of the ills that we are facing today. Not only us, it shows the way to the entire world,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, while releasing a poetry book in Hindi on the great saint on June 19 in New Delhi. Swami Chidananda Saraswati Muni of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, was also present on the occasion.

The book written by Acharya Devendra Dev has been published by Parmarth Niketan. The function was organised by Sanskar Bharati, Delhi. Social activist, Shri Roshanlal Gorakhpuria and president of Sanskar Bharati Delhi Shri Deendayal Sharma were also present on the occasion.

Shri Bhagwat further said Swami Vivekananda is equally relevant as he was decades ago. He is the only saint who is opposed by none today and his teachings transformed the lives of millions of people. Throwing light on India’s unique spiritual heritage, Shri Bhagwat said English word ‘culture’ cannot be the correct translation of Sanskrit words Sanskriti and sanskar; neither the word ‘religion’ can express the true sense of the word ‘dharma’. Our Sanskriti originates from “antah-prerana” or “self-motivation” and not by mere observance of a few customs. For us the “Manav Dharma” is the only dharma. We see God in every particle of the universe. That is why our perception of life is completely different from the West. We consider every woman as mother and renunciation of worldly material as our way of life. Since we have deviated from such teachings of our sanskriti, therefore the status of woman is degraded in the society; and the country is indulged in corruption from head to toe.

The RSS Sarsanghachalak said Swami Vivekanand’s efforts became more significant because his was the time when the country was ruled by British and our minds were instilled with the inferiority complex by European ideas. Swamiji not only broke the magic spell of the West but also showed them the superiority of India. Commenting on the present situation of India Shri Bhagwat said from last 60 years we are moving away from our spiritual heritage. He appealed to the people to follow Swamiji’s teachings and devote more time to the service of needy and deprived, as was said by Swamiji.

In his speech Swami Chidananda Saraswati Muni said the teachings of Swami Vivekananda have immense strength and those have transformed the lives of many. He said the RSS practically follows the teachings of Swamji. The nation is always supreme for the RSS and its cadre. But it is very unfortunate that some elements call such a nationalist organisation as communal. “The country today needs to change its thinking. Poverty cannot be eradicated by sleeping for a night at the hamlet of a dalit.” Poverty will be eradicated the day we ensure food and basic amenities reaches the house of every Dalit. He congratulated Acharya Devendra Dev for writing such a marvelous and inspiring book on Swami Vivekananda.

Acharya Devendra Dev introduced the book and said Swami Vivekanada’s life is an inspiration. He said the prime objective of the book is to make the youth aware of Swamiji’s life and also to aware of the current declination of culture and society. Shri Roshanlal Gorakhpuria, chairman Darcl Logistics Ltd., said there cannot be any progress without Hindutva.

RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat and veteran BJP leader Shri LK Advani met at Keshav Kunj in New Delhi on June 20 and discussed many issues concerning the nation. In a statement the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Dr Manmohan Vaidya said: “Following the brief telephonic conversation that Shri Advaniji had with PP Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat last week, there was an hour-long meeting today between the two at Keshav Kunj, the RSS HQ in Delhi. In a detailed and candid interaction Shri Advani conveyed his views on various developments in the country and the role of the Party and the broad nationalist movement led by the Sangh. It was opined that several issues need further discussion and exchange of notes at various levels. Same will take place at  an appropriate time. Shri Bhagwat also suggested that such useful exchange of views should continue in future also.”
