BALAGOKULAM celebrated Sri Krishna Jayanti at ECIL. A splendid procession was taken out through ECIL ‘X’ Roads. More than 2000 devotees including children dressed as Krishna, Radha, Sri Ram and other historical characters like Vasudeva were present in the procession.

Pejawar Swamy of Udupi Sri Vishvesha Teertha Swamiji inaugurated the procession at Kamalanagar Ayyappa Temple, ECIL.

In his inaugural speech, Swamiji said Sri Krishna is the real model for every child in Bharat and we should celebrate Sri Krishna Jayanti as Children’s Day instead of November 14. He added that in present situation we can see Kansa, Narakasura and Jarasandha in every home. In order to overcome and stop all Kansas, and other evil characters, there must be a Krishna avatar in every personality so that we can come across social issues like terrorism, attacks against women and kids and finally the nation.

Balagokulam is the place where an ordinary cowherd boy blossomed into a divine incarnation. It is here that Krishna’s magical days of childhood were spent and his powers came to be recognised. Every child has that spark of divinity within. Balagokulam is a forum for children to discover and manifest that divinity. Balagokulam will enable children to appreciate their cultural roots, learn Sanatan Dharma values in an enjoyable manner and make good friends. They will also develop a sense of sewa, service to humankind.

In Balagokulam, children have lots of fun while they learn. Activities are planned for their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual development. Weekly activities include to facilitate children to appreciate, learn and practice Sanatana Dharma way of life. A sense of pride and confidence is instilled in children about their identity. Social awareness and leadership skills are also developed among children.
