A three-member team of RSS led by National Executive Member Shri Ram Madhav is on a tour of China on the invitation of an NGO. The visit began on February 22 and will conclude on February 27. “We have been invited by Chinese Association for International Friendship and Co-operation. Its aim is to reduce tract deficit between the two countries, increase co-operation and increase people-to-people contact,” Shri Ram Madhav said. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad organising secretary Shri Sunil Ambekar and RSS Vishwa Vibhag co-convenor Shri Shyam Parande also accompanied Shri Ram Madhav.

The team is scheduled to visit Beijing, Hainan and Shanghai where it will meet institutions, think-tank leaders and media leaders. On the reasons for accepting the invitation from a country that the RSS has been critical of, Shri Ram Madhav said, “That’s why we are going. We have some strong views on Indo-China relationship and it gives us an opportunity to articulate our views there. And we have always welcomed people-to-people contact.” (FOC)
