VISHWA Samvad Kendra Patna organised a 12-day journalism training camp at its office. A total of 33 trainees underwent training at the camp which concluded on January 23. The camp was inaugurated on Vivekananda Jayanti by Shri Ganga Prasad, deputy leader of the ruling party in State Legislative Council. Shri Ganga Prasad stressed the need to connect journalism with the needs of common man. Dr Arjun Tiwari, Head of Journalism Department in Naland Open University, expressed concern that the profession of journalism is fast losing values. The trainees were imparted different kinds of training which included writing news, analysis, rewriting, photography, videography, etc. The concluding function was addressed by a senior journalist and correspondent of the BBC Shri Manikant Thakur.
