AS a New Year hope and gift for the Hindus of Kerala, both the Nair Service Society (NSS) and Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) representing almost 75 per cent of the 150 lakh Hindu population of Kerala have attacked the vote-bank and minority appeasement politics of the CPM and Congress.

Speaking at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the founding of the Hindu Ezhava SNDP Yogam at Kollam, Vellapalli Natesan, the fiery General Secretary said, neglect of majority Hindus in Kerala is shameful and unjustified.

“Public money is being spent for minority appeasement. Muslims and Christians are being pampered by allotment of schools to them. In Malabar 150 out of the 175 new plus 2 schools were allotted to Muslims. Similar is the case in South Kerala where majority of the educational institutions are allotted to Christians”, he said.

The SNDP warned of massive agitations against the pro-minority attitudes of both CPM and Congress.

Speaking at the 134th birth anniversary of NSS founder Mannath Padmanabhan at Perunna, NSS General Secretary PK Narayana Panicker said even after 60 years of Independence, the governments are doing injustice to Hindus in all matters including reservation, scholarships and alloting educational institutions.

“Both CPM and Congress indulge in double-talk and vote-bank politics. They take the Hindu vote and appease the minorities. The new UGC regulations brought out by the UPA-II, applies different and biased yardsticks for right to appoint faculties in institutions run by Hindus and Christians/Muslims. This is the latest in a long list of appeasement history,” Shri Narayana Panicher said.

The NSS resolution warned of massive agitations and joining Hindu like-minded forces to resist onslaught on the Hindus.

Perhaps as a silver lining, the BJP leaders attended the meet and offered floral tributes at ‘Mannath Samadhi’ in the presence of NSS leaders.
