Religious places, organisations and Gurus under jehadi threat VHP condemns attack on Sri Sri Guruji Ravishanker

ON May 30, 2010, after evening satsang, world-renowned Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravishankar Guruji was attacked and fired at. Though he escaped unhurt physically, his disciple sustained injury.

Criticising the soft national policy towards jehadi attacks on Hindu religious places, religious Gurus and leaders and common citizens, VHP International Secretary General Dr Pravin Togadia said, “Last many years jehadi attacks on Hindus, Hindu religious places and Gurus have seen tremendous increase. This is due to the soft approach towards jehadi terror for vote bank politics. Every time there is such attack in J&K or in Assam or in Mumbai or anywhere in Bharat, governments say that the attackers are upset due to peace process with Pakistan and therefore they attack. Some vote-banker sympathises with the jehadi terrorists and claims that they are poor and unemployed-therefore they attack. Knowing fully well the minute planning and technically sound brains behind such terror, when Governments follow such lenient approach towards the nation’s security, every citizen and especially Hindus become the straight target of jehadi terror. If the policy to scuttle jehadi terror would have been clear and tough, nobody would have dared to attack the world renowned Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravishankarji or even Swami Laxmananandji in their ashrams. Due to vote bank politics of the policy makers the jehadi terrorists have become bold enough to enter the ashrams, industrial establishments, hotels, railway stations and houses of Hindus!”

Expressing concern over the selective and discriminatory approach of the so-called secularists towards jehadi and Maoist terror, Dr Togadia said, “Those who systematically suppress the truth behind such jehadi attacks on Hindus, Hindu religious places, Gurus and leaders, are not doing great service to the nation. Just because there is cynicism and neglect by some high-brow secularists about such Jehadi attacks, does not mean that the nation does not realise the real faces and truth behind them. Sri Sri Ravishankarji himself expressed clearly that the attack was by a terrorist and it must be due to ideological grounds (Saiddhantik kaaranon se hamla karte hain terrorists) He also mentioned his observation that from Kashmir to Assam and from Bengal to Mumbai and Bengaluru such terrorist attacks have been taking place and the nation, religious places and Gurus and aam aadmi is no more safe. VHP hopes that the national policies on jehadi terror get tougher rather than persecuting Hindus and Hindu organisations for vote bank politics.”
