National convention of VHP'sDharma Prasar Samiti was organised in Delhi from March 13 to 15. Addressing the delegates, VHP general secretary Dr Pravin Togadia described conversion as an invasion on the Hindu society. ?If conversion is not stopped it might cause another Division of the country. The Hindu society cannot survive only on the strength of government. We have to restore the glory of the nation with our own strength. There should be strong units of the organisation even at the village level and service projects should be started for the benefit of the deprived people,? he said. He announced that the VHP would soon start over one lakh service projects across the country to counter the conversion activities by the alien forces. Dr Togadia appealed the Hindus to donate at least one rupee or one handful of foodgrain for the needy persons of the society.
Earlier, inaugurating the meeting, Delhi Prant Sanghachalak Shri Ramesh Prakash Sharma said ban on conversion would solve many problems and the activities of homecoming should be organised even at the village level. Jain Sadhvi Kaushalya Mata stressed the need to stop brain drain and said their wisdom should be used in development of the country. Smt. Mridula Sinha, former chairperson of Central Social Welfare Board, appealed to the women to come forward and contribute in nation building. Central secretary of VHP Mohan Joshi and senior VHP leader Shri Dharmnarayan Sharma also spoke on the occasion.
