BENGALURU: In a laudable gesture and true to his nature and quality as a quintessential organisational man Shri LK Advani called on his party'sKarnataka state secretary S. Kailash at the Manipal Hospital. The later is undergoing treatment for kidney-related problems.
Shri Advani was tipped off about the health condition of Shri Kailas by a journalist friend through Medical Education Minister Ramachandra Gowda and KR Gopinath, a sangh functionary. He instantly decided to visit Shri Kailas at the hospital. He was accompanied by Shri Ramachandra Gowda and Shri Gopinath.
?Kailasji, I wish you a speedy recovery. I want you back in full form to motivate the cadre and further strengthen the organisation, as you have been doing it for the last several decades,? Shri Advani told Shri Kailas, holding his hand. The gesture moved Shri Kailas to tears but Shri Advani?known for boosting the morale of the party cadre?calmed him.
As is his nature, the NDA'sPrime Ministerial candidate?during his 25-minutes stay in the hospital?enquired with the patient about his problem, medication, post-hospital care and about the persons looking after him.
On his part Shri Kailas said he feel embarrassed and finds it odd because there has never been an occasion where he is visited by any leader. ?On the other hand, I used to organise the leader'svisit to somebody. This is something a strange feeling,? he told Organiser.
A RSS-bred full-time activist of the erstwhile Jan Sangh and the BJP, Shri Kailas is associated with the Hindutva movement since 1962.
