“No enterprise can function without entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is the foundation of running enterprise and foundation of entrepreneurship is skill development. After agriculture, micro and small-scale enterprises are the largest generator of employment. Hence, skill development to equip the youth for mass manufacturing labour intensive occupation through skill development is the answer to achieve the social equality,? said Dr Chandrapal, Secretary, Ministry of MSME. He was launching the scheme of entrepreneurship development center at a national conference on employment through entrepreneurship development in New Delhi on October 16. The conference was organised by Life Development Foundation and Helpline Twenty First Century.
Earlier, welcoming the participants Shri Sudarshan Sareen, president of Helpline Twenty First Century, observed that on hand growing unemployment is the cause of concern and on the other hand the industries are facing acute shortage of skilled workforce. This, he said, meant that national economic growth did not produce enough opportunities for every section of the society. He said the Indian Entrepreneurship Movement would unlock the barrier and open floodgate of opportunities for the unemployed youth.
Shri Bhuvnesh Chaturvedi, chairman of Life Development Foundation highlighted the objectives of the movement and its flow of benefits to the society. He said Mathura has been identified as the first location for starting the movement and it would be replicated in other districts of the country shortly.
Shri Pravir Kumar, Joint Secretary of Ministry of MSME, said entrepreneurship was the way to eradicate poverty and hunger from the country. Shri K.R. Arya, Executive Director of National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development stated that the scheme of entrepreneurship development centre is aimed at promotion of entrepreneurship and skill development through establishment of a large network of entrepreneurship development centers in public private partnership. Former Governor of Jharkhand Shri Prabhat Kumar also spoke on the occasion. (FOC)
