During the birth centenary year of Shri Guruji, observed last year, a number of activities were conducted by swayamsevaks across the country. The objective of all those activities was to establish effective contact with the people of various communities in order to eradicate untouchablity and also to strengthen social harmony. Continuing that effort a meeting with some senior saints and leaders of several sects was held at Keshav Kunj in New Delhi on October 9. A total of 33 saints from Delhi and Haryana participated in the meeting, which was also attended by RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan. The saints included Nihangs, Jatthedars, Valmiki saints, Kabirpanthis, Brahmakumaries, Jains, Arya Samajis, ISKON, etc.

The Sarsanghachalak held elaborate discussion with the saints on various issues concerning the nation today. Initiating the dialogue, he said the relations among the saints of various sects have strengthened during the last a few years especially during the birth centenary of Shri Guruji. He said the cordial relations developing among the saints should also reach to the ground level and the saints should direct their followers too to maintain those cordial relations in day-to-day life with rest of the society. He appealed to them to visit the remote areas and also the areas inhabited by weaker sections of the society.

All the saints attending the meeting appreciated the effort of organising this meeting with the Sarsanghachalak and said such meetings should be held in future also. The issue of Ram Sethu was also raised by some saints at the meeting and the need was stressed to awaken the whole society against the conspiracy of questioning the historicity of Shri Ram. They also said to accelerate the work of strengthening social harmony in the society. Jain Acharya Shri Vijayratnasunder Surishwar raised three issues?prabhu (God), pashu (animals) and prakriti (nature). He described the attempt to question the historicity of Shri Ram as complete madness.
