Former Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh of RSS and former Kshetra Sanghachalak of Pashchim Uttar Pradesh Kshetra, Dr Jagmohan Garg passed away in Ghaziabad on October 11. He was 74. He was unwell for some time. He was cremated at Hindon crematorium on October 12.
Jagmohanji did his B.Sc from Benaras Hindu University. Later, he went to America for higher education and received the degree of B.Tech, M.E from Purdue University. Later, he also taught at the same university. He was the first Indian teacher who received the best teacher award there. Leaving the lavish life of America, he returned to India in 1966 and set up his own industry. Dr Garg became a swayamsevak in his childhood. Holding various responsibilities he became the Kshetra Sanghachalak of Pashchim Uttar Pradesh and later Akhil Bharatiya Sampark Pramukh. A condolence meeting was held at Lal Bahadur Shastri Sainik School in Ghaziabad where hundreds of senior educationists and local people paid him tribute.
Paying tribute Sarsanghachalak Shri K.S. Sudarshan said Jagmohanji never compromised on his ideals and values and accepted all challenges with courage. ?When he saw that some cables used in computers, etc. are being imported he resolved to manufacture them in India itself and did it successfully. In the beginning, some raw material had to be imported. The imported material had to be received from Mumbai custom office. The officers there used to create problems if they were not paid bribe. Jagmohanji decided not to pay even a single penny and he received that material without paying the bribe. If he wished he could have earn lot of money from these cables, but Jagmohanji sold the cables at a very reasonable price,? he added. (FOC)
