First prize of the second TT- Jhanvi story competition has gone to Shri Pramod Kumar of Allahabad for his story entitled Sabzian (vegetables). He will be presented a cash prize of Rs 51,000. The second prize of Rs 15,000 went to Sushri Smita Bhushan of Virsinghpur of Umaria district, Madhya Pradesh, while the third prize of Rs 10,000 has gone to Sushri Anju Dua Jaimini of Faridabad.
Apart from this, ten consolation prizes have also been declared. These winners include Sudha Goel (Bulandhshahar), Anil Sunar (Dhule), Sudha Sahaya (Aara), Dilip Kumar (Balrampur), Mahavir Razi (Asansol), Ramesh Chandra Chabila (Saharanpur), Arvind (Meerut), Meenakshi Jijivisha (Faridabad), Pushpa Chille (Damoh) and Dr Kavita Vachkhanavi (Hyderabad).
According to Shri Bharat Bhushan Chaddha, editor of Jhanvi, a total of 300 entries were received for the competition, organised to celebrate the 125th birth anniversary of noted Hindi writer Prem Chand. Noted Hindi writer Shri Himanshu Joshi, Sushri Chitra Mudgal and Sushri Chandrakanta were members of the Selection Committee, which selected the winners.
The first story competition by TT-Jhanvi had been organised in 1997. The prizes would be given away at a function to be held in New Delhi shortly. (FOC)
