Itihas Sankalan Samiti, West Andhra Pradesh, organised at Sri Sundarayya Kala Nilayam, Hyderabad, on October 9. Veteran Sangh adhikari and member of RSS national executive, Prof. Shripati Sastry delivered the lecture. Prof. S. Bhanumathi Ranga Rao, president of the Samiti and former professor of History at Osmania University, presided over the meeting.
Delivering the lecture Prof Sastry who has been a Professor in History at Pune University, described Satheji as a patriotic pracharak. He recalled the contribution of Satheji who unmindful of brilliant academic career, jumped into the job of a pracharak. ?He continued his services for more than 50 years and moulded three generations, which is a rare thing,? he said.
Shri Sastry also dwelt on the subject of 1857 freedom struggle and asked the gathering to ponder over about the lesson they can take from it. ?We are the ancient people. Neither Italy nor Germany can be called ancient. There was no England 2000 years back. In the case of USA, it was recently born. Our Bharat, therefore, is most ancient. But I am not the one who agrees with the view that greater the antiquity higher the glory. During the course of history we witnessed many ups and downs that shaped our country and helped us in building character of the people developing cultured and civilised life because of historical circumstances. One of the factors that shape the history are the warfare, battleground and struggle for existence. These things go to make a nation and tell upon the progress of a great people of a great race,? he said.
In the beginning Smt. Sushilatai, sister of Shri Ram Sathe, released a book Karmayogi Shri Ram Sathe Guru. In her speech, she mentioned about the services rendered by the late Satheji as a Sangh pracharak. She said Satheji was a brilliant thinker and showed admirable courage and patience in taking the message of the Sangh to the people in spite of odds he faced. He dreamt of alround development of the country in accordance with the true meaning of paramvai-bhavannetu… as enunciated in the Sangh prayer. Another book, Political Theories in the Vedas, written in Hindi by Shri Shiva Acharya and translated into English by Shri Ayush and two others as directed by the late Satheji, was also released. Shri Veerabhadra Rao Garu porposed a vote of thanks. (Samachar Bharati, Andhra Pradesh)
