Shri Ramchandrapura Math of Karnataka is organising a nine-day Vishwa Go Sammelan (World Cow Conference) at Hosanagar in Shimoga district. The mega event, being organised to create awareness about the importance of protecting and promoting Indian cow breeds, will be inaugurated on April 21 at the Ramchandrapura Math and will be concluded on April 29. About 20 lakh people are expected to participate in the meet.

The conference is a unique and unprecedented historic festival of cows where cow-loving experts, scientists, cow shepherds, farmers, leaders, planners, sadhus and saints would meet. A committee involving thinkers and activists from diverse fields has already been constituted for this purpose. Representatives from all continents and leaders from dairy-farming countries are also expected to attend the meet. It will also witness various cultural events connected with the cow. There will be meetings, lectures and exhibitions, talent shows and devotional programmes. A ?Kamadhenu Rathotsava? will be held in which a cow as presiding deity will be taken around in a chariot.  (FOC)
