Started in 2004, the Arogya Bharati has spread all over the country. During the birth centenary year it took two prominent programmes. They invited doctors, medical students and noted persons who are working in medical field to attend a national meeting on September 16 and 17, 2006.
In Nagpur, Swami Ramdev, Shri K.S, Sudarshan and Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi participated in the meeting. A total of 29 members from west Andhra Pradesh, 9 members from east Andhra Pradesh attended the meeting.
The second programme of the Arogya Bharati is the health check-up drive for poor children between the age of 5 and 13 years in villages and towns across the country. They will be under observation for five years and will be provided medicines. Arogya Bharati is the first organisation to take up this task. Health check-up programme was started in October 2006 and it will be conducted till this month. It covered 1,400 children in 14 hamlets in Bhagyanagar, Hyderabad. Fifty-six doctors participated in this event. Fifteen villages of Indur district (Balconda mandal) and some villages in Karimnagar, Jagityal, Mancherial, Nirmal, Manukota, Janagaon, Warangal, Suryapeta, Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Siddipeta, Kurnool and Nandyal (nearly 60 villages) were covered under this plan. Niramaya conducted arogya camps and issued health cards for children. In this health protection programme, government, non-government doctors, swayamsevaks and social activists participated actively.
