New BJP president of Orissa Shri Suresh Pujari called upon party workers to fight against the UPA Government for its step-motherly attitude towards Orissa.

Pujari who took over charge from the outgoing president Shri Jual Oram, MP at a public function recently said the prime objective of the party will be to bring the Government to the people. The party will facilitate to bring the government closure to the people.

Lambasting the UPA Government at the Centre, the youth leader from Western Orissa said that the state has always suffered under the Congress rule on developmental front. While the NDA Government under the leadership of Shri Atal Behari Vajpayee had opened up the national exchequer for the development of Orissa, the UPA Government has been neglecting the State even during the time of calamity like the recent severe flood that ravaged many districts of the State, he added.

Asserting that the BJP has reached to the grassroots level of the state, Shri Pujari said that it is time to galvanise the party by reorienting the cadres. The party has to be people-oriented, he said and pledged to achieve this.

The coming panchayat election is a challenge for the party to prove its organisational strength, he said adding, there is very little time for everyone in the party to face the challenge.

While appreciating the discipline among the party workers and leaders in the State for unanimously electing Shri Pujari as the new president, national BJP secretary Vinay Katiyar exhorted them to work in such cohesion during the next panchayat elections. The coming panchayat election should be a reminder to the UPA Government whose days are numbered.

National president of BJP Yuva Morcha Dharmendra Pradhan criticised the minority appeasement policy of the UPA Government.

The meeting coordinated by Raj Kishore Das was also addressed by Minister for Law and Industry and Rural Development B.B. Harichandan, Revenue Minister Manmohan Samal, and former minister Bimbdhar Kuanr besides Jual Oram.  (Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Bhubaneshwar.)
