National convention of VHP'sDharmacharya Sampark Pramukh was held in Delhi from August 5 to 7. A total of 52 workers from 30 prants participated in the meeting. Inaugurating the meeting Shri Ashok Singhal, VHP president, called upon the activists to launch a special contact drive to bring maximum saints in the Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal meeting, which will begin in Delhi on September 16. He directed them to constitute district Margdarshak Mandal units and also make efforts to bring maximum number of saints at the third Vishwa Hindu Sammelan to be held in Prayag on February 11, 2007. He stressed the need to establish contact with all saints including Kabirdasi, Ravidasi, Ramdasi, Aalekh, Vanvasi, etc. He also said to meet the Buddhist, Jain and Sikh religious leaders. He pointed out that saints observed Shri Ram mahotsava in 5,000 villages of Konkan prant. He said efforts should be made to organise such functions in other parts of the country. Shri Singhal called upon the Dharmacharya Sampark Pramukhs to devote their maximum time to establish contact with the saints. Shri Singhal also released a book Omkar Sadhana, complied by Shri Jiveshwar Mishra.

Shri Champat Rai apprised the gathering of the proceedings of the court on Shri Ramjanmabhoomi matter. Shri Balkrishan Naik spoke on the coordination work going on between the Hindu and Buddhist saints. According to Shri Jiveshwar Mishra, at least 200 saints will participate in the Kendriya Margdarshak Mandal meeting and over 12,000 will attend the Dharma Sansad, which will be organised in Prayag during the third Virat Hindu Sammelan. He said saints will also visit various villages to bring awareness among the people. Shri Vishnu Hari Dalmia was elected new president of the Dharma Jagaran Nyas.
