Diwali Milan by WOSY in Bangalore
Yi Milan with the students from various countries studying in Bangalore was organised by World Organisation of Students and Youth (WOSY), an associate of ABVP, on November 12. Around 150 students from 25 countries including Kenya, Thailand, Mongolia, Bahrain, Dubai (UAE), Tanzania, Tajikistan, Mauritius, Denmark, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Zambia, Namibia, Iran, Afghanistan, Kyrgzstan, Madagascar, Uganda, South Africa, Yemen and Kazakhstan participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Akhil Bharatiya Sah-Bauddhik Pramukh of RSS, said the new generation of students and youth must try to understand the concept of vasudhaivakutumbakam and should think that the suffering of an individual is the suffering of all and no one can be happy till everyone is happy. The feeling of global unity and world brotherhood must be developed amongst the new generation to bring about lasting world peace and prosperity. He said no political institution or ideology has been able to achieve it anywhere in the world due to vested interest. ?However, if the youth realise it and come together, it can be achieved. He appealed to all the foreign students to take back the fragrance of Indian culture, tradition and values when they return to their respective countries after completing their studies and also to maintain ties with India.
Shri John Patrick, president of Federation of International Students Association (FISA-B) thanked the ABVP for organising the event and all those students who had turned up in a good number. He hoped that the get-together would strengthen ties between the local people and the students from other parts of the world during their stay here. Shri K.C. Rammurthy, Commissioner of Youth Services and Sports, government of Karanataka, Shri K.N. Raghunathan, general secretary of ABVP, Shri Prem Prasad Shetty, secretary of Bangalore unit of ABVP were also present on the occasion.
