Demonstration against burning of tricolour
People belonging to different social and political organisations staged a massive demonstration in Kendrapara district of Orissa protesting against the burning of tricolour by Bangladeshi infiltrators on August 15. The VHP staged a six-hour bandh while the BJP activists blocked the roads. According to Shri Simanchal Khatua, Orissa Prant Prachar Pramukh, the ABVP activists staged dharna outside the District Magistrate office in Kendrapara. He said the Bajarang Dal and BMS activists also demonstrated at various district centres. Meanwhile, Orissa BJP president Juel Oram raised the issue in Lok Sabha on August 19 and demanded stern action against the culprits. Warning that the Bangladeshi infiltrators had become a major threat for national security in the state he said the BJP would launch a massive agitation against them in coming days.
