Do you know about MPs who have made it to the Lok Sabha a maximum number of times? Then do check out the PIB site. According to it, the senior Congress leader, P.M. Sayeed, tops the list who has been a Member of Parliament for the maximum number of times-ten. As an MP, he has had an unbroken stint, from the 4th to the 13th Lok Sabha. Equally impressive is the Prime Minister'srecord: Vajpayee first got elected to the 2nd Lok Sabha and has been a member of successive houses except for the 3rd, 8th and 9th House. The Communist stalwart, Somnath Chatterjee, has remained nine-term MP contesting from Bolpure, he has won five times in a row from here. Buta Singh has also had a prized parliamentary history. Elected to the 13th Lok Sabha from the Jalore (SC) seat in Rajasthan, Singh first entered Parliament by winning a seat in the 3rd Lok Sabha and thereafter has been an MP in all terms except the 6th, 9th and 11th.
