The Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Shri K.S. Sudarshan has chalked out a systematic approach to be adopted by Sangh swayamsevaks to reach out to the last person in the village through various developmental programmes and bring them all within its organisational fold. The sequence to be adopted by the Sangh activists is named Kiran, Uday and Prabhat. Under Kiran, the workers will take the pledge and form committees. Under Uday, they will build the base for Prabhat, which envisages the actual work, keeping in view the special requirements of the community. Shri Sudarshan was addressing the concluding session of a three-day camp of swayamsevaks held at Raipur. About a thousand special invitees belonging to various RSS-inspired organisations such as Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vidya Bharati and others from Chhattisgarh, Mahakoshal and Madhya Pradesh attended the camp.

The Sarsanghachalak emphasised the need for special efforts to expand the Sangh network in the remote parts of the country. He pointed out that various political parties realised the significance of Hindus getting united, which could ultimately change the very contour of the nation’spolity. Congress too, he said, had now adopted a somewhat mild attitude towards Hinduism. Expressing his resentment against religious conversions, he said that when all the religions had a common goal, there was no justification for projecting a particular religion as the best and engineering conversions. There should be a stringent law against conversion, he said. Referring to the suggestion for declaring India a Hindu nation, he stressed that Hindusthan was of course Hindu Rashtra. “This is the reality and Hindutva is the nationality of India. As far as RSS is concerned, every Bharatiya is a Hindu. Yet Hindutva did not have the desired impact on the society as a whole because of certain weaknesses in the Hindu society. Muslims and Christians have a goal, namely, to bring the entire world under their fold. Hindus did not have any such goal. That is why they became weak. They forgot their own ideals and the country lost a large part of its territory. Today we need to recreate a sense of self-respect among Hindus. The Supreme Court has already ruled that Hinduism is not a religion-it is a way of life,” he reminded the assembly.

Regarding the Jains? and the Lingaayats? claim that they are minority communities, Shri Sudarshan said that only those who came from abroad and settled in Bharat could be a minority. Jews and Parsis could rightly claim themselves as minorities but they seldom claimed that status, he manitained. As regards the Muslim? and Christians? claim to minority status, he argued that their roots were deep in Hindusthan-they had not come from outside, as such how could they be a minority? He said that in fact the very idea of minority and majority is irrelevant in a secular state. Elaborating the RSS concept of Hindutva, he said that it was nothing but cultural nationalism.

Chhattisgarh BJP President, Nand Kumar Sai, General Secretary, Soudan Singh, Chief Minister, Dr Raman Singh, Home Minister Brijmohan Agrawal, Assembly Speaker, Prem Prakash Pandey, Union Minister, Ramesh Bais were some of the prominent participants at the camp. The Sarsanghchalak asked the ministers to rise to the expectations of the people and maintain transparency in their work. Political parties realise the significance of Hindus getting united, which can ultimately change the very contour of the nation’spolity.
