Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a dedicated UP State Horticulture Export Promotion Board website to help farmers, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and exporters connect with international markets. The new portal (upsheb.in) will provide information related to overseas demand, quality standards, export procedures and government support available for horticulture exports. The website will make it easier for farmers and other stakeholders to understand the requirements for exporting fruits, vegetables and other horticultural and processed agricultural products.

The UP State Horticulture Export Promotion Board website has been developed as a platform which will provide export-related information to farmers and businesses that are involved in horticulture. Farmers can use the portal to identify international markets where horticultural produce from Uttar Pradesh has demand. Information about country-wise quality standards, export procedures and facilities available to exporters is also provided. Details of government assistance, guidance and subsidies can also help farmers and FPOs understand the support which is available for entering export markets.

The initiative will increase the participation of Uttar Pradesh farmers in international trade and provide them with better access to global markets. According to the Yogi government, Uttar Pradesh has around 3,000 exporters spread across all 75 districts. UP has also seen growth in the export of horticultural and agro-processed products.

Exports in this category increased from around Rs 727 crore in 2016-17 to Rs 1,132 crore in 2025-26. The government wants to further expand this market by improving the coordination between farmers, FPOs and exporters.

Which UP products are exported?

Horticultural and processed agricultural products from Uttar Pradesh are being supplied to several international markets. These include countries such as the United States, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and Sweden. The new website can help stakeholders understand the requirements of different international markets and identify various opportunities on the basis of available produce in different districts.

How can farmers benefit?

Farmers and FPOs can use the portal to get information about international demand, quality requirements and export-related procedures. They will understand what standards are required before goods can be supplied to overseas buyers.

The availability of information on government facilities and subsidies can also help farmers and organisations explore financial and institutional support for export-related activities. The government has also been encouraging greater coordination between FPOs and exporters. During the meeting and workshop of the Uttar Pradesh State Horticulture Export Promotion Board, MoUs were signed between FPOs and exporters to strengthen these linkages.

By bringing information on global markets, quality standards, export procedures and government support onto one platform, the Yogi government aims to make international market access easier for farmers and FPOs.
