An FIR has been registered at Ausa police station in Latur district against CJP convenor Abhijeet Dipke, party worker Ajinkya Shinde and other party workers over their alleged entry into a government school at Jawali near Ausa.

The case was registered following a complaint by Sayyed Shamshadbano Khairatali, a 53-year-old teacher at the Zilla Parishad Urdu school. According to the complaint, Dipke and his associates entered the school premises without permission and interacted with students while raising questions about the condition of the school.

What are the charges against Abhijeet Dipke?

According to the FIR, Dipke and the other accused have been booked under four provisions of the BNS:

Section 132: Assault or use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging official duty.
Section 329(3): House trespass.
Section 351(2): Criminal intimidation.
Section 356(2): Criminal defamation.

The complaint alleges that the group’s presence caused obstruction to educational and government work at the school.

What happened inside the school?

According to the FIR details cited in the report, Dipke and his associates entered the school without obtaining permission from the authorities.

They reportedly sat with students and questioned the school authorities about its condition and facilities. The complaint alleged that their activities disrupted the functioning of the school and interfered with official work.

Dipke also recorded videos of his visit and interactions with students and subsequently posted them on social media.

The complaint further alleged that Dipke made claims intended to defame the school, including an allegation that students from another school had been brought in and made to sit in the classrooms during his visit.

He was also accused of threatening to have teachers suspended, according to the complaint.

The allegations in the FIR are accusations and have not been established as facts by a court.

FIR comes amid CJP’s ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign

The case comes days after the CJP launched its ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, an initiative focused on government-school infrastructure and educational facilities.

The campaign was launched on August 15, India’s Independence Day, and began from Dipke’s native village in Hingoli. CJP members have since visited government-run schools in different states as part of the campaign.

The party says the programme is aimed at highlighting shortcomings in government schools and pushing for improvements in education and basic amenities.

However, the campaign has also faced opposition over the manner in which CJP members have conducted some of their visits.

CJP school visits face opposition

The Latur FIR is not the only controversy surrounding the campaign.

The report said CJP members have visited several government schools since the campaign began, while facing resistance at some locations.

In Jaipur’s Rampura Kanwarpura, a CJP team was allegedly attacked while visiting a government school on August 21.

The latest FIR in Latur has now brought the issue of unauthorised school inspections and interactions with students into focus, with police alleging that the conduct of Dipke and his associates amounted to obstruction, intimidation and other offences.
