UPSC Recruitment 2026: 47 Specialist and Faculty Posts Announced

New Delhi – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited online applications for 47 Group ‘A’ vacancies across multiple departments, including 40 Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor posts in various medical super-specialties. Interested candidates can submit their UPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 applications through the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) portal till July 31, 2026. UPSC has advised applicants to fill ORA form carefully, as incorrect or incomplete information may lead to rejection during the scrutiny process. The UPSC Recruitment 2026 eligibility criteria vary according to the post. For UPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026, candidates must hold an MBBS degree, the required postgraduate super-speciality qualification, and the prescribed teaching experience. For other UPSC vacancies, including Assistant Soil Chemist, Prosecutor, Deputy Assistant Director (Entomology), Entomologist, and Junior Scientific Officer, applicants should have the relevant educational qualifications like a master’s degree in agriculture, zoology, toxicology, public health entomology, or law, along with the required professional experience as mentioned in the official UPSC Recruitment 2026 notification.

Age Limit and Salary

The upper age limit ranges between 33 and 45 years, depending on the post. Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in accordance with Government of India rules. Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Levels 8, 10 and 11 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix. Candidates selected as Specialist Grade III Assistant Professors will also receive Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) in addition to their basic pay.

Through UPSC Recruitment 2026, the Commission is directly hiring the specialists for important posts in different Central Government departments. This is separate from the annual Civil Services Examination. Through the UPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 and other specialist vacancies, the Commission aims to recruit qualified professionals with domain expertise for key roles in government hospitals, research institutions, scientific organisations and technical departments.

The recruitment drive will strengthen faculty availability in medical colleges while enhancing manpower in sectors such as agriculture, public health, scientific research, toxicology, entomology and legal administration. By filling these specialised posts, the UPSC Recruitment 2026 notification supports the government’s efforts to improve healthcare services, research capacity and technical governance across various departments.
