TIRUPPUR: A Heritage Carnival for Children, an immersive celebration of India’s rich cultural and historical legacy, was successfully conducted on July 24, 2026 at Nachiyar Padasala International School, Tiruppur, by The Verandah Club. The one-day festival brought together 125 students from three schools, offering them a unique opportunity to experience India’s heritage through inspiring talks, storytelling, history, science and culture. The day’s sessions followed a carefully curated schedule covering architecture, leadership, women in history, astronomy and classical Tamil literature.
The event was organized by The Verandah Club in collaboration with Nachiyar Padasala International School, Tiruppur, whose management and faculty extended wholehearted support in making the festival an enriching experience for every participant. Their commitment to introducing young learners to India’s civilizational heritage was widely appreciated.

The festival commenced with an engaging session by Gurumurthy S, noted Historian, who transported students to the magnificent world of the Brihadeeswara Temple (Big Temple), Thanjavur, one of India’s greatest UNESCO World Heritage monuments. Through fascinating historical anecdotes, architectural marvels and lesser-known facts, he explained how the Chola empire achieved engineering excellence over a thousand years ago. His presentation instilled immense pride in Indian heritage while encouraging students to appreciate monuments as living records of history.
The second session was delivered by Jaisri Raju Sriram, a Parenting Coach. She captivated the audience with inspiring stories of courageous women from Indian history. Through powerful narratives of queens, warriors and extraordinary women who displayed wisdom, sacrifice and fearless leadership, she highlighted the often-overlooked contributions of women in shaping Indian civilization. Her session encouraged students, especially young girls, to draw inspiration from these remarkable role models.
Following the break, V Shankar Kumaran, Founder of WAYAM and Corporate Trainer, spoke on leadership and education for the next generation, he encouraged students to develop a deeper respect for their heritage. Emphasizing curiosity, adaptability, emotional intelligence and lifelong learning, he inspired young minds to become confident leaders capable of shaping the future while remaining rooted in values.
The post-lunch session featured Shri Tejaswi Adinarayanan, Junior Adhyapak from Anaadi Gurukulam, who introduced students to the fascinating world of ancient Indian astronomy. Demonstrating how Indian scholars observed the skies, tracked celestial movements and developed sophisticated astronomical knowledge centuries ago, he beautifully connected science with India’s intellectual traditions. His interactive presentation sparked curiosity about the universe while showcasing the scientific achievements of ancient India.
The concluding session was presented by Shri Vigneshvaran G, Senior Correspondent of The Verandah Club, who delivered a humorous storytelling performance based on the Tamil epic Manimegalai. Blending clown theatre,audience interaction, archaeology and history, he transformed classical literature into an entertaining experience for children. The performance received an enthusiastic response from students, proving that heritage can be both educational and immensely enjoyable.
Throughout the day, students actively participated, asked thoughtful questions and enthusiastically engaged with every session. The festival successfully demonstrated that India’s heritage is not merely about remembering the past but about inspiring future generations through stories, science, architecture, literature and values. To
encourage their continued journey of learning, every participating student received a book from BluOne Ink, a copy of the Balagokulam magazine, and a participation certificate.
The success of Heritopia stands as a testament to the collective efforts of The Verandah Club, Nachiyar Padasala International School, Tiruppur, the distinguished speakers, knowledge partners who shared a common vision of nurturing cultural awareness among children. With an overwhelming response from participants, Heritopia has laid a strong foundation for many more heritage festivals that will continue to reconnect young minds with India’s extraordinary civilizational legacy.
