Bhopal: There was a time when Madhya Pradesh was primarily identified with agricultural production, mineral wealth and traditional industries. Today, the state is rapidly advancing towards becoming a new destination for future-oriented industries such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), data centres, semiconductors, Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and digital infrastructure. The ‘MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0’, held in Bhopal on Monday, has infused fresh momentum into this transformation.
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav inaugurated the ‘MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0’. A short film showcasing the state’s journey of technological development was screened during the event. The Chief Minister inaugurated 20 industrial units established with an investment of ₹178.70 crore, which are set to generate 1,229 new jobs.
Additionally, a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was exchanged between the ‘India Lead for Google Play’ and MPSEDC. Letters of Allotment for setting up units in Madhya Pradesh were also handed over to representatives of various companies, including Patrick Smets, CEO of Barcelona-based Submer India Pvt. Ltd.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said, “Madhya Pradesh is poised to become a vital engine of India’s technology economy. The participation of leading domestic and international companies, investors, policymakers, and educational institutions signals that the state’s growth journey could scale new heights in the coming years, driven by technology and innovation.”
Targeting Rs 40,000 Crore in Investment and 35,000 Jobs
The conclave began with a message emphasising the translation of investments into ground-level reality. Its most significant achievement is the creation of a comprehensive roadmap for future investment opportunities. The Chief Minister stated that 51 different activities would be organised during the three-day event, expected to generate investments worth approximately Rs 40,000 crore and create over 35,000 job opportunities in the state.
He remarked that this event would prove to be a decisive step towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a robust hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs), data centres, and the semiconductor industry, sectors poised to shape the global economy in the coming decade.
Evolving Industrial Identity: From Drones to Missiles
Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav noted that over the past 12 years, India has established itself as one of the world’s fastest-growing economies, and Madhya Pradesh has advanced rapidly alongside this national growth journey. Once known primarily for its agriculture-based economy, the state is now making its mark in cutting-edge sectors such as drone technology, defence equipment and missile manufacturing. This transformation signals that the state is emerging as a major hub for advanced manufacturing and digital technologies, alongside its traditional industries.
Investment from Barcelona: AI Data Centre to Forge a New Identity
Highlighting his foreign visits, the Chief Minister mentioned that following his trip to Barcelona, companies from Spain, the USA and Canada have invested approximately ₹228 crore in Madhya Pradesh. He noted that a significant agreement was reached to establish a 1-gigawatt capacity AI data centre, and representatives from the concerned company have now arrived in Bhopal. This clearly demonstrates the growing confidence of global investors in Madhya Pradesh. He added that AI data centres, a ‘Science City,’ digital infrastructure, and innovation-driven projects would define the state’s new identity in the future.
Expansion of IT Infrastructure
To accelerate investment in the technology sector, the state government also announced the expansion of IT parks. A modern IT park spanning approximately 3 lakh square feet will be developed along the Super Corridor in Indore, offering ‘plug-and-play’ facilities to companies. The Bhopal IT Park will be expanded by approximately 4 lakh square feet to enable digital service companies to operate with state-of-the-art facilities. Additionally, a new IT park will be constructed on a 5-acre plot in the Kolar Road area of Bhopal. Similar development plans were also mentioned for Gwalior. These projects will facilitate the expansion of IT companies in the state and provide local youth with better employment opportunities within their own state.
Trusted by Leading Global Companies
The participation of prestigious companies such as Fujiyama Power, CTRLS Datacenters, Nyobolt Limited, and Kaynes Technologies in the conclave signalled that Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a priority destination for global investors. Additionally, the involvement of esteemed institutions like IIM Indore and IISER provided a unified platform for industry, research, and skill development. The showcase of the latest digital solutions and cutting-edge technologies at the technical exhibition also proved to be a major attraction for investors.
Success of Previous Editions Boosts Confidence
The first two editions of the MP Tech Growth Conclave were remarkable for the state. The inaugural edition attracted investment proposals exceeding Rs 20,000 crore, with an estimated potential to generate approximately 75,000 job opportunities. Meanwhile, the second edition drew investments worth over Rs 12,000 crore and created employment prospects for nearly 48,000 youths. These successes have further strengthened the industry’s confidence in the third edition.
