New Delhi: During the valedictory session of the “Organiser: 80 Years of Media Movement”, the Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan honoured the former editors of the nationalist weekly who have shaped and steered its editorial journey for eight decades and across generations surpassing all the odds and authoritarian censorship. As an institution’s greatest strength lies in its people, the unwavering commitment and journalistic legacy of former editors were honoured who have dedicated their lives to champion a nationalist media movement rooted in civilisational wisdom.
When the Organiser stands at a pivotal moment by accomplishing 80 meaningful years in journalism, the immense contribution of its former editors & their family members were acknowledged and respected. During the felicitation ceremony, along with the Vice President of India, the Sarakaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) Dattatreya Hosabale, Managing Director of Bharat Prakashan Delhi Limited(BPDL) Arun Kumar Goyal and Editor of Organiser Weekly Prafulla Ketkar were present.
Vijayalakshmi, the daughter of Organiser’s Founding Editor A.R. Nair was honoured. When Organiser first appeared on 3 July 1947, Shri A.R. Nair laid the editorial foundations of a publication that would go on to become one of India’s longest-running English weeklies. His vision, dedication and pioneering spirit shaped the character of Organiser at a defining moment in the nation’s history.

Pratibha Advani, the daughter of Lal Krishna Advani was honoured, in recognition of the contributions of L.K. Advani to the growth of the Organiser Weekly in its early days.

Former Editor Seshadri Chari and Balashankar were also felicitated by the Vice President of India for their unparalleled contribution to the Organiser Weekly and nationalistic journalism.


Also, Vikram Malkani, the son of KR Malkani was honoured by the Vice President of India and Sarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale. KR Malkani is the longest serving editor of the Organiser Weekly, from 1948 to 1983. He was also imprisoned during the 1975 emergency rule. He firmly dismantled the emergency censorship imposed on the magazine and revived the weekly in the post emergency era, with utmost spirit.
Book Release
During the valedictory session of the “Organiser: 80 Years of Media Movement”, vice President C.P. Radhakrishan, Sarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale and other dignitaries released two publications that resonated with civilisational wisdom, cultural legacy and the perspectives of Bharat. The book “Hindutva Discourse After Independence – Reading from Organiser Pages” authored by Prafulla Ketkar(Editor of Organiser) and Gautam Choubey was released. The Vice President also released “Temples Beyond Bharat” authored by Dr. Ujwala Chakradeo.
Speaking at the valedictory session, Vice President of India C P Radhakrishnan acknowledged the eight decades of nationalistic journalism as a testament to resilience, sustained commitment and continuity across generations. The Sarakaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) Dattatreya Hosabale also hailed Organiser for shaping ideas, thoughts, personalities and nationalism over decades and for being “the voice of the soul of the naion”. The Sarakaryavah also thanked Organiser for being a “distant and affectionate” teacher during his college days and for influencing his nationalist perspectives.
