Keralam needs investment, not unnecessary political conflicts between LDF and UDF that blocked development: BJP

BJP Keralam State President and MLA Rajeev Chandrasekhar has accused the LDF and UDF of stalling the state’s development through continuous political conflicts, arguing that debt, unemployment, inflation, and investment shortages deserve greater attention than partisan confrontations.

Unnecessary conflicts between the ruling and opposition fronts have blocked the state’s development, said Rajeev Chandrasekhar, BJP Keralam State President and MLA. The economic crisis and development stagnation are the results of the wrong policies and disaster politics of the CPM-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), which have ruled the state alternately. He said this in view of the recent discussions in the Legislative Assembly.

The BJP leader said that while the world is moving rapidly towards the AI age, new avenues are opening up for children and youth. On the one hand, the business sector faces challenges posed by AI and changing distribution chains; on the other hand, global investors are seeking better markets. What the leaders of the ruling and opposition fronts are engaged in is politics that diverts attention from the real issues faced by the people.

It’s now clear why Keralam’s economy is a disaster – it’s because the politics of @INCIndia and @cpimspeak is a disaster.

As a 3-term Member of Parliament and Minister in Govt of India, I started my first ever term as MLA and entered the Assembly on June 1, 2026

Chandrasekhar said there are attempts to politicise even the White Paper released on the state’s economic situation. He said that serious issues such as Keralam’s mounting debt, unemployment, lack of investment, and inflation should have been discussed on the floor of the House. Instead, the Assembly is witnessing unnecessary political arguments.

The BJP MLA said that although both the Congress and the CPM are engaged in a blame game, both are equally responsible for the current economic plight, and the people of Keralam have realised this. Keralam needs a new political culture centred on development, investment, employment generation, and transparent governance.

The BJP State President further added that his party would raise the real issues faced by the people. Parliamentary Party Leader B.B. Gopakumar and senior leader V. Muraleedharan will strongly put forward the vision of a corruption-free and development-oriented “Viksit Keralam”.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s observations present a serious assessment of the current political and economic situation in the state. At the same time, he unequivocally outlines his party’s future plans.

Critics argue that leaders without vision, or politicians driven by individual-centric ambitions, contribute less to society and focus more on political issues. They often prioritise welfare schemes over development projects that address the real challenges facing the state, thereby diverting attention from the issues at hand.
