Bhubaneswar: The one-day Central Working Committee meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, the sacred land of Mahaprabhu Jagannath. The meeting brought together key office-bearers and karyakartas from across the country to deliberate on pressing national, educational, social, and organisational issues.
A major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous passage of a congratulatory resolution appreciating the people of West Bengal for giving a mandate aimed at ending the politics of violence, fear, and appeasement, and restoring democratic values in the state.
The meeting commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by ABVP National President Prof. Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari, National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki, and National Organising Secretary Shri Ashish Chauhan. Senior karyakartas and representatives from all states participated in the deliberations, reflecting the organisation’s nationwide presence and outreach.

The Central Working Committee meeting is considered one of ABVP’s most significant organisational forums, where strategic discussions on future direction, campaigns, and national issues are undertaken.
Deliberations on National and Educational Issues
Extensive discussions were held on the current national scenario, the education system, the role of youth in nation-building, national security, social and economic concerns, organisational review and expansion, and contemporary challenges facing the country.
ABVP leaders emphasised the need for greater youth participation in social transformation and educational reforms rooted in Bharatiya values and philosophy. The organisation reiterated its commitment to creating a holistic and integrated education system that promotes the comprehensive development of students.

The meeting also reviewed various campaigns and initiatives undertaken by ABVP over the past year. These included the ‘Screen Time to Activity Time’ Campaign, ‘150 Years of Vande Mataram’, the ‘Hostel Survey Campaign’, ‘Birth Centenary Year of Prof. Yeshwantrao Kelkar’, ‘50 Years of Resistance to Emergency’, ‘350 Years of the Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur’, and the ‘650th Prakatyotsav of Sant Shiromani Ravidas Ji’.
Special emphasis was laid on ensuring effective follow-up, implementation, and organisational expansion through these campaigns.
Resolution on West Bengal Passed Unanimously
During the meeting, a resolution titled “Commending the People of West Bengal for Re-establishing Democratic Values by Defeating the Politics of Violence, Fear, and Appeasement” was unanimously passed.
The resolution stated that democratic values and public participation are essential for strengthening the nation’s constitutional and social framework. ABVP leaders said the people of West Bengal had sent a strong message in favour of democratic governance and against divisive and fear-based politics.
Representatives from across the nation also deliberated upon issues concerning education, economy, society, global developments, national security, and youth affairs. These discussions are expected to shape future organisational resolutions that will be formally considered during the upcoming National Executive Council meeting.
Education Must Be Rooted in Bharatiya Values: Prof. Tiwari
Addressing the gathering, ABVP National President Prof Raghuraj Kishore Tiwari highlighted the importance of reviewing organisational work and understanding present circumstances in order to determine the future direction of the student organisation.

The ‘Vichar baithak’ held in Dwarka and Sringeri were also part of this process and have proved to be milestones in strengthening the organisational framework in accordance with present-day requirements. This year, on the occasion of the birth centenary of Prof. Yeshwantrao Kelkar Ji, awareness and intellectual programmes organised across the nation connected karyakartas with his ideals and working methodology, providing fresh inspiration that is highly relevant today. In the field of education, ABVP firmly believes that India’s education system should be rooted in Bharatiya philosophy and values, paving the way for an integrated educational framework that ensures the holistic and comprehensive development of the younger generation.”
ABVP Working Against Educational Discrepancies and Urban Naxalism: Dr Solanki
Welcoming all karyakartas attending the Central Working Committee meeting,, ABVP National General Secretary Dr. Virendra Singh Solanki said that at a time when Bharat is emerging as a global leader, ABVP continues to work through constructive movements and democratic struggles to address challenges ranging from Urban Naxalism to discrepancies prevailing in the education sector.
He highlighted several student-centric movements led by ABVP, including the struggle for scholarships in Telangana, protests against the NEET paper leak issue, movements against examination irregularities and paper leaks in Mumbai, and innovative initiatives through student unions in Delhi and Punjab Universities.
Dr. Solanki also pointed to ABVP’s expanding social outreach through programmes such as Tribal Student Conferences in Tripura, Chhatra Sansad in Odisha, Law Students’ Conferences in Tamil Nadu, and the nationwide ‘Mission Sahasi’ campaign, under which more than one million girl students have received self-defence training.
He said these initiatives reflect the growing acceptance and expansion of ABVP across the country. Dr. Solanki further added that the Bhubaneswar meeting would energise karyakartas with renewed spiritual strength and a positive outlook, enabling them to work with greater momentum towards the mission of nation-building in their respective fields.
